Why is Now the Time to Get Solar PV

1. Reduce your energy bills

With a cost of living crisis looming overhead, a solar pv installation may be a great investment to safe guard your future. Your energy bills will significantly decrease as you rely on the electricity generated by your solar panels to meet most of your energy needs. The amount you save on your bill will depend on the size of your solar panel system and your consumption rate of electricity. You can also store surplus energy collected for future use by installing batteries.

2. Low maintenance

Solar PV systems typically require minimal maintenance. Generally, cleaning them a couple of times per year is sufficient as the rain in Ireland is well-suited to keeping solar panels clean. With no moving parts, wear and tear is minimal.

3. Different mounting styles available

You have multiple mounting types for solar available. The type and size of the installation and the array will depend on a few circumstances such as space, positioning and roof type for example. Depending on your roof size and which way it is facing a ground mount system may be what would suit you. Though these can be typically more expensive it would be worth it as your panels are in the optimal position. With ground mount systems there is a standard system and a bucket system (less mess).

4. Different premises can get solar

Whether you have a business, a farm or a domestic premises, we will work together to put a system in place that will give you the most out of it. And now with grants available for each premises type, there is no better time to get an installation in place.

5. Great grants available

There are fantastic grants now available for Solar PV installations for your Domestic, non-domestic and agricultural needs.

Domestic: with SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) you can get a grant for your household installations for €900 per kWp up to 2kWp and €300 for every additional kWp up to 4kWp, the maximum grant offering available being €2400 from your installation.

Non-Domestic: This grant with SEAI has only come in this year and is a great way to get money back. With this grant you can get €1800 back on a 2kWp system or the maximum grant offering is €2400 and this is available from 4kWp to 6kWp.

Agricultural: The TAMS 3 Solar Capital Investment Scheme is now open for agricultural applications. Installations up to the value of €90000 could get 60% grant back.
