How to Apply For Your Solar PV and EV Charger Grants
Before getting solar or an electric vehicle charger installed you should look into the grants that are available to you. SEAI have a great website that brings you through all the information you might need to get a grant.
After getting your quote for the installation and you are happy to go with it you are now ready to set up a grant application. We will be taking you through the step-by-step process of getting your application submitted.
Solar PV Application
For a Solar PV Application through SEAI, you will need the following bits of information ready for the process:
MPRN of premises (found on electrical bills)
Name and address of individual that is attached to this MPRN
Email
Bank Details
System Size (found on your approved quotation)
Your approved Installers Name
1. You can register for a solar grant by clicking here. Make sure to choose the correct user type before clicking register.
2. Once this is done it should bring you to your profile screen in which it will ask for your name, phone number and other personal/business (if applicable) details. It will also have a section to confirm your email with them which you can do first. Once you click this you will receive an email to confirm. When this is done you can click back into your profile, ensure all your details are entered and click save.
3. Now you will click the house icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen and this will bring you to your applications screen. On occasion, when you go to this page after registering, it may bring up an error message that may read as “you do not have access to view these applications”. If this occurs, log out and leave it for a short period of time and when you log in again it should look like the below picture. If the error still appears then ring SEAI (018082100) and they can check to make sure that there is nothing internally wrong.
4. When you click on ‘Create New Application’ you will need to input your MPRN and follow the onscreen instructions and apply. When it asks for you to search for your installer please click where indicated below, type name in and click the magnifying glass and the installer should come up. (just scrolling through the list of names may not bring up your desired installer)
5. Once you have applied you and the installer should receive an email from SEAI stating your application in now on the system.

EV Charger Application
For a EV Charger application through SEAI, you will need the following bits of information ready for the process:
MPRN of premises (found on electrical bills)
Name and address of individual that is attached to this MPRN
Email
Car Charger information (manufacturer)
1. You can register for a solar grant by clicking here. You will be brought to the below page:
2. Follow the instructions on this page by filling in your information. Once this is done click submit and once you are accepted you will receive an email from SEAI which you will need to share with your chosen installer. When sending this onto your chosen installer, make sure they have your MPRN as this will be needed for the certificates needed for the work done.
