TAMS 3 SOLAR GRANT – WHAT FARMERS NEED TO KNOW

What’s TAMS 3?

The Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) is a Department of Agriculture initiative offering financial support to farmers for upgrading farm infrastructure. One of the standout opportunities under TAMS 3 is grant aid for the installation of solar panels, helping reduce on-farm energy costs and carbon footprint.


Solar Grant Details

  • Grant rate: 40% (60% for young trained farmers)

  • Max funding: €90,000

  • Covers: Solar panels (up to 62kWp), inverters, batteries, install.

Who Can Apply?

  • TAMS 3 is open for applications in tranches, usually lasting 12 weeks per tranche.

  • Applications are made through the AgFood.ie portal.

  • You must wait for grant approval before starting any installation work!
